This tour is designed for Russians and anyone who is interested in Russian history and heritage. The tour encompasses some of the sites associated with Tsar Peter I (Peter the Great) on his visit to Britain in 1697-98. Peter travelled to Britain as part of his Grand Embassy. Peter embarked on the embassy not long after becoming sole ruler of Russia, and visited several countries in western and central Europe to establish diplomatic relations and acquire the latest technology and skills for the economic development of Russia. This tour only encompasses the sites in Deptford, where Peter and his delegation stayed during his visit.
