Britain through the world wars

A walk through 20th century military history

London 1 day 9 stops 4.1 hours All Season 739

ABOUT THIS TRAIL

The United Kingdom and the wider British Empire was a key participant in both world wars. Although London was relatively unscathed during the First World War, many British servicemen were killed during the war and many families were introduced to the brutality of war. London was suffered heavily during the Second World War as the Luftwaffe bombed the city during the Blitz in 1940-41, destroying much of the city. The Imperial War Museum and its branches commemorates Britain's experience of both world wars and the suffering and bravery which eventually led to victory.
