Visit art exhibitions in galleries and independent spaces in Glasgow's artistic quarter A post-industrial city, Glasgow has in the past few decades, emerged as a home to many artists. If you'd like to experience some of the art produced by or curated by local art organisations, the Trongate area would be a great introduction. Amidst the old Victorian buildings are a mix of galleries, a print studio, and artist-run spaces, alongside independent cafes. This route would make for a relaxing afternoon tour of about 4-5 hours. Make sure you leave time for a spot of coffee at Trans-Europe or a drink at Mono, a vegan eatery and bar. Many of the art spaces are open only when exhibitions run, so be sure to check out their websites if you'd like to know what's on.
