Description: An artisanal gelateria a bit off the normal route, they have excellent flavors including at times lavender. They have gelato without lactose, specialty flavors which are often changing, and for a series of flavors they use goats milk! It provides a much creamier gelato. They have been praised highly by. Gambero Rosso.

Description: One of my all time favorites of the city, you won't find many tourists but locals and students of the nearby university. Miami dip their cones in chocolate and add nuts on top, so be sure to take advantage of that delicious treat. They have an amazing consistency and range of flavors. My personal favorites are Peanut with Dulce de Leche and Carmelizzed Fig.

Description: There are many Fatamorgana gelaterie around the city, so really you could stop at any one. I have marked this for you as it is logically the next step from Monteverde. Amazing range of not so usual flavors, they change with the seasons but Thumbellina is one of my favorites, also Basil. One time they even have had Black Garlic and White Chocolate, it is worth a try! They have long been praised as one of the best gelato of Rome. They offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten and I believe lactose free options!

Description: Claudio Torce has given Rome some of the most amazing gelato you can imagine. With incredible flavors including habanero, and pepperoncino with chocolate. This is a gelateria not to be missed.
