Description: A unique elliptical building opposite the Tower of London, City Hall was opened in 2002 and located near Tower Bridge. Many parts of the City Hall are opened to visitors from Monday to Friday. After passing through security, you can visit the café on the ground floor and attend meetings and debates at the Chamber on the second floor.

Since 1971, the ship has served as a museum ship on the Thames and operates as a branch of the Imperial War Museum. Climb aboard and explore the decks that have naval action for 28 years.

Description: The Golden Hinde is a full-sized reconstruction of the famous galleon from the 16th century which carried Sir Francis Drake in his circumnavigation of the world between 1577 and 1580. This replica, which contains parts of the original ship, will take you back to the age of discovery, sailing and privateering. Since 1996, it has operated as a museum ship open to the public.

Description: Around the corner from the Golden Hinde lie the remains of the medieval palace that had served as the house for Bishops of Winchester since its creation in 12th to 17th century. After that, it was used as tenements and warehouses. Although destroyed by fire in 1814, the walls of the Great Hall remains, with the rose window intact on the west gable. There are also signs explaining the site's history with an illustration of the palace at its fullest extent.

Description: Built upon the original site, the Clink Prison Museum preserves the atmosphere and the experience of the infamous museum which dated back to 1144. The notoriety of this prison means that 'the clink' has served as slang for prison for hundreds of years. For over 700 years, the prison had seen all sorts of misfortunes, until it was burned during the Gordon Riots in 1780. Visitors interested in the history of torture and imprisonment may like to go inside the museum for £7.50. The museum opens until 9pm, so feel free to turn up at night for added dramatic effect.

Description: This building, built in 1997, is a perfect reconstruction of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, which was built at a nearby site in 1599 before it burnt down in 1613, rebuilt in 1644, and eventually demolished in 1644. The theatre hosts performances of Shakespeare's plays as well as some other related events. The building also includes an exhibition on Shakespeare’s life and works and guided tours of the theatre. Description: The Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian bridge built to mark the third millennium in 2000. Although it received some criticism when it opened, with winds making the bridge unstable, it is now accepted as part of London's fabric. The bridge provides for wonderful views of the city both upstream and downstream. It leads to St Paul's Cathedral, one of the city's most famous architectural landmarks.
