The upper part of Barcelona has a different feel to it. It is more calm and well preserved. Streets are cleaner and parks are everywhere. Today we are focusing on these parks and the heritage of these spaces. We start of in the Putxet Hill, with views to better understand where we are in the city. We can get there with the L7 Metro Line, just 20 minutes from the city center. From there we go to three old mansion gardens now turned public, true gems of Barcelona's heritage in the upper part of town. We go to the Villa Florida, now a library and gardens with a lovely cafe. Now recharged, we enter the neighborhood of Sarrià. There we find the gardens of ca n'Altamira, a hidden treasure, really. Quick stop by the cemetery of Sarrià, interesting perspective on how people have lived and died for centuries. Finally, the gardens of Vila Cecilia. A large and fantastic place full of cafes, flowers and fountains. All part of an old private fortune now available for anyone to enjoy.
